Objectives of NSS

  • To work with/among People
  • To engage in creative and constructive social action
  • To deepen self-awareness and foster a comprehensive understanding of the community
  • To gain skill in the exercise of democratic leadership
  • To gain skill in programme development
  • To enable his/hers for Self-employment
  • To promote the will to save the weaker section of the community.

Duties of NSS Volunteers

  • To establish rapport with the people in the Project Once
  • Identify needs, problem and resources of the Community
  • Plan programmes and carry out in action
  • Relate his learning and experience towards finding solutions to the problems Identified
  • Record the activities in his work diary systematically and assess the progress periodically and offer changes as and when needed

  • Plantation of saplings & kitchen / herbal garden - raising
  • Creation / renovation of rain water harvesting (RWH) structures
  • Visit to hospitals & support activities
  • Conduct of health camps / yoga camps
  • Total sanitation programme
  • Road safety programme
