About CIICP

The Canada-India Institutional Co-Operation Project (CIICP) is a Human Resource Development project initiated during the year 1991 through a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Government of India and the Government of Canada. The project was initially financed by the Canadian International Development Agency. The overall project strategies were evolved by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges and the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The project was handled by Canadian experts and the CIICP activities were implemented in 8 Polytechnic colleges in Tamil Nadu under phase I & phase II. In March 1999, the Canadians handled over the project to the Indian counterparts to sustain and to replicate the initiatives in our State.
The main objectives of the CIICP are:

  1. To improve the Human Resource Potential.

Our Polytechnic was selected by the Government of Tamil Nadu as one of the replication Polytechnics under the third phase of the implementation of the initiatives of CIICP in the year 2001. Thus our institution reached an important milestone.
