The Canada-IndiaInstitutional Co-Operation Project (CIICP) is aHuman Resource Developmentproject initiated during the year 1991 through aMemorandum of Understandingsigned between the Government of India and theGovernment of Canada. Theproject was initially financed by the CanadianInternational DevelopmentAgency. The overall project strategies were evolved bythe Association ofCanadian Community Colleges and the Ministry of Human ResourceDevelopment,Government of India. The project was handled by Canadian expertsand the CIICPactivities were implemented in 8 Polytechnic colleges in TamilNadu under phaseI & phase II. In March 1999, the Canadians handled over theproject to theIndian counterparts to sustain and to replicate the initiativesin our State.
