Dr.K.Vijaykumar is at present Principal-in-charge of Seshasayee Institute of Technology,Trichy-a Government Aided Autonomous polytechnic Institution. He joined SIT as Lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the year 2000 after serving at JJ Engineering college as Lecturer and has been elevated as Senior Lecturer in the year 2003. He is also the Associate NCC of their NCC Unit for the past 13 years in the rank of Captain and organized several NCC camps.

He underwent pre-commission training at Officers Training Academy, Nagpur and secured overall second position at National level, and has been awarded the‘Bronze medal’ for his meritorious achievements by the Director General of NCC. He pursued his Master of Engineering at College of Engineering, Anna University, Chennai in the year 1994 and completed his Ph.D in the year 2015 in“Machining bidirectional Carbon reinforced polymer matrix composite tubes”.

He visited UK as Indian delegate sponsored by All India Council for Technical Education, as a part of UK- India Educational Research Initiative to study the Educational practices followed in the Institutions at UK. He has been awarded with CMI Level 5 certificate for Management and Leadership by WALES University, UK.  under UKIERI Project and a qualified life skill trainer.

He is also the Principal Coordinator of Community college project under National Skill Qualification Framework and also the Coordinator for the Skill Training Programme of Tamilnadu Skill Development Corporation.

He has many accolades for himself including Best Guide award from the Commissioner of Technical Education, Chennai for presenting best Project at Regional level and State level. He was also awarded the Best Faculty Award from Nehru group of Institutions, Coimbatore.
